Some businesses are working hard to spread holiday cheer to the less fortunate as people everywhere prepare for the holiday season.
This week's "In Good Company" features four local groups that have warmed our hearts with their generosity.
1. HP arranges a paper-based coding education for students from low-income families.
In order to develop a special paper-based coding curriculum over the course of four weeks, HP Indonesia collaborated with the graffiti artist Darbotz, Prestasi Junior Indonesia, and Kumala Foundation.
The aim? to demonstrate to disadvantaged students that they can also learn to code.
An outreach programme called HP Street Code was organised in Tanjung Priok in North Jakarta where 20 children diligently studied paper-based coding for four weeks under a toll bridge.
The effort culminated with a special code-based Darbotz and HP artwork that was projected as an augmented reality experience for the general public in South Jakarta.
2. Make A Wish generates money to help children who are seriously ill.

After a three-year break, Make-A-Wish Malaysia held their annual WishBall, selling eight products to generate money for the nation's sick children.
Paintings, a limited-edition Thermomix, a handcrafted baju kebaya by Bill Keith, a pair of Amee Philips earrings, and works by Stephen Menon and Nazneen Zofia, a person with brittle bone illness, are among the goods auctioned.
The group received RM114,000 (US$25,760) in total donations.
3. The Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia awards diplomas to 400 students.

400 students recently graduated from the campuses of the Apple Developer Academy, which has been operating in Indonesia for five years and has campuses in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Batam.
The academy provides training in leadership and coding skills to aspiring business owners, developers, and designers, giving them the tools they need to succeed in Indonesia's burgeoning iOS app market.
The students in the 2022 cohort range in age from 18 to 39 and come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. They are from all five of Indonesia's major islands. The cohort includes the most female participants since the program's inception.
Comute, which enables the deaf to commute on the Jakarta commuter rail with ease, WonderJack, which provides dyslexic children with a safe environment to learn through an interactive and educational game, and Hexcape, which makes use of AR and other technologies to bring escape room-style puzzles to life through both online and offline play, are just a few of the useful apps that have been developed.
4. Amazon contributes S$100,000 (US$73,840) to aid 31,000 disadvantaged kids.

Amazon donated a total of S$100,000 (US$73,840) to four NGOs in Singapore that aid impoverished children.
Over 31,000 Singaporean children between the ages of three and 21 will benefit from the donation through funding provided to the Arc Children's Centre, Beyond Social Services, SHINE Children and Youth Services, and Singapore Children's Society.
They will be able to access better and more enriching activities, meals, and medical care, among other necessities, thanks to the financing.
